Formadrain’s cured-in-place-pipe (CIPP) system is one of the best on the market. It repairs pipes up to 150 feet long and with diameters between 2 and 48 inches and has been used successfully for industrial, municipal, commercial and residential rehabilitation projects that have posed numerous challenges to engineers.
In Lackawanna, New York, for example, the Formadrain system saved a 120-foot section of a 10-inch diameter sewer main that was riddled with holes. What made that particular project especially difficult was that the main ran under a heavily populated residential section of the city.
Open-cut methods of repair would have caused damage to too many lawns and structures to be cost-effective. But by inserting a liner directly into the pipe, Formadrain technicians were not only able to repair the sewer main. They were also able to avoid property damage and spare the city undue expense.
Three hundred miles east of Lackawanna in Rensselaer, New York, the Formadrain system restored a pipe located in the newly constructed Rensselaer Waste Water Treatment Plant (RWWTP) facility designed to house a water treatment holding tank. The 8-inch diameter cast iron pipe—which was also new—had mysteriously sprung a leak.
What made this project especially frustrating was that engineers could not pinpoint the exact location of the leak. All they could say with certainty was that was coming from a 46-foot section of the pipe, which they tried to spot-repair without success.
Technicians then used the Formadrain CIPP system to repair the entire section, which had had several elbow bends measuring between 22.5 and 90 degrees each. Yet despite these obstacles, the entire project was completed within a day.
Formadrain is an industry leader and has been for more than 20 years. The Formadrain system excels in lining pipes that require specialized attention, either because of where they are located or how they are constructed or both. Effective and efficient, our system can help with your rehabilitation project and at a price that’s far less than other methods.
For pipeline challenges of all kinds, Formadrain is it!
