Magic Drain Does Their Magic (Again) with FORMADRAIN

A seven-storey building on Toronto’s Eglinton Avenue East developed a leak in a floor drain located inside the building’s rooftop mechanical room. The floor drain, which is in a concrete floor, is a horizontal branch tying into the vertical stack.

The building owners were faced with the daunting prospect of having to core drill through concrete to replace the section of pipe that was leaking into the washroom below.

Core drilling would not only have been expensive, messy, and time-consuming, it would also have required the building’s entire a/c system to be completely cleaned before reactivation to ensure that the dust and debris from the drilling was not blown through the building.

Instead, the building’s owners chose the no-dig, no-mess, cost-effective method of pipe rehabilitation – a FORMADRAIN liner.  FORMADRAIN licensee, Magic Drain Consultants Ltd., are experts at solving problems like this using the FORMADRAIN technology.

Watch how they successfully lined the damaged section of pipe and restored full operation of the drain in a matter of a few hours.

This video clip shows Magic Drain running the pressure hose up to the roof, securing it, and making sure that conditions on the sidewalk were made safe for pedestrians:

The next clip shows Magic Drain’s Ariel Lencina explaining the job and showing how they cured the liner:
